Scenes from Boracay - Day 1

I didn't have many photo ops on day 1 of my week long Boracay vacation. I arrived at my hotel just after sunset and was anxious to eat and ready for a good nights sleep after a long day of traveling. I will upload a few teasers when time permits and will upload a complete photo gallery after I return.

Boracay Island is fantastic so far. It's warm, tropical, friendly and touristy. LOL. The seafood so far is delicious.

Tonight I'll be going out to see a show called "The Amazing Show". We'll see if it's actually amazing or not won't we?

Greetings from Boracay!

Photo of the Day - The Firefighter

The Local Korean fire station happened to be conducting a training exercise in my building today. I grabbed my camera and quickly snapped this photo. This photo caught my attention because there's something about the way the fire fighter looked at the camera, and although he is silhouetted, you can still tell he's looking right at me.

Note: The smoke isn't real smoke, it's dry ice or whatever the fire department uses to simulate real smoke.

Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul South Korea

From my upcoming photo set, Seoul Street Photography Set 2, here is a shot of one of the buildings at the Gyeongbokgung Palace in central Seoul. Much of the palace was destroyed by the Japanese during their reign, however, it has been restored to it's original grandeur. This is just one of many buildings that make up the palace grounds.

I'll be doing a lot more traveling to other parts of Korea this summer. Stay tuned!

Emilio Morenatti - AP Photographer

I always like to give props to photographers whose works inspire me or are otherwise, amazing.
One such photographer is AP photographer Emilio Morenatti. He has been in the thick of the world's most dangerous conflicts since 2004.

Kicking Things Off!

I figured it's about time to set-up a web site dedicated to my photography, after all, I have been shooting photos professionally since 1999. I always had specific clients that I worked for as well as my own projects, however, all that changed in 2008 when I decided to make a radical change in direction, I joined the army! I'm still active duty, however, my love of photography never diminished. As it turns out, I'm now working as a Public Affairs Representative (photographer) for my army unit, although it should be noted, that is not my primary military occupation specialty. I'm actually a Fire Direction Specialist for the Multiple Launch Rocket System. Things being as they are, my unit took note of my expertise with a camera and moved me to Public Affairs and Liaison. So I've come full circle. In any event, I figured it was a good idea to have a web presence specific to my photography. So here it is.
